Aprilia will debut Manuel Gonzalez in MotoGP during Monday’s collective test at Aragón, as reported by Motorsport.com.
González, the current Moto2 World Championship leader with Intact GP, will replace Ai Ogura at Trackhouse, Aprilia’s satellite team, while Ogura is recovering from leg surgery.
The 22-year-old rider has been highly successful in the intermediate class this season with three wins and five podiums in seven races.
Aprilia and Trackhouse see the test as an opportunity to evaluate Gonzalez’s performance on a MotoGP prototype, though no definitive decision on his future in the premier class has been made.
Additionally, Marco Bezzecchi and other Aprilia riders will participate in the test session alongside Gonzalez.
González made his Moto2 debut in 2021 after competing in WorldSBK junior ranks and showed promise with top-five finishes and a win at the Japanese Grand Prix last year.
